Sunnyslope high school will be gaining a second school resource officer (SRO) this week according to Principal Johnathan Parker.
Parker said in a staff email that students and faculty should not be “alarmed or suspicious about the new presence of an officer in addition to Officer Mercado. Additionally, I want to soothe your concerns – we received a second officer due to our enrollment, not because of heightened concerns of any sort.”
The second officer was given to Slope due to a city grant and will remain on campus through May of 2026.
Parker further clarified that, “the second officer will be a different person on each day.”
Officer Lui (featured above), Sergeant Snyder and Officer Pacheco (not featured) will be rotating days they will be present on campus.
If students have any questions or concerns they are encouraged to reach out to Administration.
