“America’s decline is over,” said President Donald Trump in his inauguration speech earlier this month, but America’s decline is far from over.
Trump’s second term will only manage to plunge the country into further chaos.
Russia and China are two of the world’s superpowers, with military and industrial might on par with that of the U.S.
It is not wise to challenge these nations, yet Trump repeatedly finds himself in petty fights with these two powerhouses.
Within the first two weeks of his second term, Trump has already managed to provoke both of these nations along with many others, extinguishing any hope for a peaceful 4 years.
But how?
Only days into his presidency, Trump has made open threats to take over Greenland, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Panama.
Trump doesn’t like being told no and is determined to gain the territory he desires, even considering using military force.
This is where China comes into the picture.
During Trump’s inauguration, the president repeatedly complained that China was effectively “operating” the canal, which was “foolishly given to Panama,” thanks to a growing presence of China around of the waterway, further saying, “We didn’t give it to China, we gave it to Panama, and we’re taking it back.”
Although the entirety of Panama is not ‘owned’ by China, Chinese companies such as Landbridge Group and the Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison Holdings now operate ports at both ends of the canal, as well as China being the 2nd biggest user of the canal behind the United States.
China’s economic control on both sides of the canal raises concerns about the potential for rapid militarization and its ability to control canal access.
If any action is taken by the United States to take over the territory, it would likely put the U.S. at war with China.
While all of this has been playing out, Russia has been quietly watching from the sidelines, which Trump couldn’t stand for obviously.
The US has always had a complicated relationship with Russia, but Trump has decided to take that relationship to the extreme.
President Donald Trump sent a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin telling him to make a peace deal to end the war in Ukraine, on Jan 23, threatening economic consequences if he doesn’t.
Trump announced that if a deal isn’t made soon, he would place high levels of taxes, tariffs, and sanctions on Russian imported goods.
Trump then threatened Putin that it can be done “the easy way, or the hard way,” in a similar message on X.
Putin has grown increasingly concerned about the state of Russia’s wartime economy, just as Trump pushes for an end to the Ukraine conflict.
So with Trump threatening to strain the economy, Putin has just case to retaliate.
The aftermath of these sanctions would likely mean war.
Subsequently, this would put the U.S. at war with Russia and China at the same time.
However, Trump is so focused on other countries that he has not done much for the U.S. since he was reelected.
Surely Trump’s staff is taking this more seriously than him of course, a great example is Elon Musk.
This is where a former big player comes into the game: Germany.
Department of Government Efficiency Director Elon Musk supposedly did the Nazi salute during Trump’s inauguration.
The website of the Anti-Defamation League, which campaigns against antisemitism, defines the Nazi salute as “raising an outstretched right arm with the palm down,” and ranks it as “the most common white supremacist hand sign in the world.”
Elon Musk was clearly trying to reference a specific figure in German history with this action.
In his own attempt to downplay the allegations, Musk posted a joke referencing names of prominent Nazi leaders on X, also sparking a backlash.
The fact that Musk has not apologized and has even doubled down on it showcases that he is a Nazi sympathizer and may quite possibly share similar Nazi ideals.
Trump has yet to comment on Musk’s behavior at the inauguration, and it’s safe to say he probably won’t.
While performing the salute Musk said, “It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured.”
Is this what we can expect the future to look like?
Our president closely connected to a Nazi sympathizer, who is actively threatening other countries.
A recipe for disaster.
Trump’s main focus has been just growing the U.S but what about Gaza?
Trump stated that he ‘was not confident’ that the ceasefire in Gaza would hold despite the three hostages being released and despite his claims to have organized the agreement between Israel and Hamas.
Trump stated that ‘it’s not our war, it’s their war’ according to CNN, yet is making it his life mission to start one.
Although the ceasefire is commencing, the struggle to get Gaza the support it needs has become a challenge.
While Trump likes involving himself in places where he isn’t wanted, one thing he won’t touch is Gaza.
According to NBC News Trump stated that he wanted to ‘clean out Gaza’ and move the Palestinians to safety.
But while he said this during his campaign, he still issued that the bombs that Israel bought would continue to be shipped by the U.S. Military.
This clearly shows that he is making no effort to stop any future fighting unless it involves the U.S.
Not only did he continue the shipment to Israel but stated that Israel needed to ‘finish the problem’ and that their ‘horrible invasion would never have happened if he was president.’
He goes on to say in his inauguration speech very little about Gaza and the devastating tragedies they have faced and instead puts his time into talking about the Gulf of America.
He clearly hasn’t got his priorities straight.
Overall, Trump hasn’t thought his actions through and he’s only going to hurt the U.S. in the long run.
Either starting a war on others or a war on ourselves. Trump will be the decline of not only the U.S. but other countries.
