Two extremely skilled sharpshooters are assigned an unfeasible task.
Keep what’s in the gorge, in the gorge.
These snipers are also given 1 rule: no contact with each other.
Levi Kane and Drasa are two highly skilled operatives hired by a private organization to keep the secret of the gorge from getting out.
“The Gorge” follows the journey of protagonists Kane and Drasa as they learn the ropes of protecting the gorge.
Kane and Drasa eventually break the rule of no contact.
The audience glimpses into what the private organization does to the people who’ve already protected the gorge.
Actors Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, who play Kane and Drasa, have incredible chemistry on screen and do a wonderful job playing two strangers who will become close friends and maybe even more.
The chemistry is very easily seen throughout the movie as it seems they’re made for each other.
After their first contact with each other, a slip-up made by Kane jeopardizes their secret friendship, and things get challenging real quick.
Similar to other dystopian movies like “Oblivion,” the protagonists don’t know what they’re getting into until they realize the big scheme and ugly truth of their world.
“The Gorge” has a similar cast to that of “Oblivion,” as there are both male and female leads that have incredible chemistry and work very well together.
Director Scott Derrickson creatively made a seemingly boring valley turn into this mysterious and dangerous gorge that needs protection 24/7 and has top-secret information that is worth almost 90 years of protection.
Derrickson adds layers to the plot by having Kane and Drasa meet, and Derrickson makes the audience root for the two to win and escape the danger that is the gorge.
Derrickson keeps your eyes glued to the screen as there are twists and turns no one suspects.
Derrickson did a tremendous job with the casting of Teller and Taylor-Joy as their on screen chemistry made this film a joy to watch.
