President Donald Trump has managed to change, undo, and make new laws just in the first 3 months of his term. With hopes to “Make America Great Again,” he has many plans for changes he is ready to make.
With some drastic changes that have been made, many citizens, Republican or Democrat, are taken aback due to the promises during the campaign not being upheld so far.
CBS News wrote, “Despite promises to cut spending during the campaign and his first few months in office, President Trump’s federal government has spent more than $200 billion more in his first 100 days compared to the same time period last year.”
On January 20, 2025, President Donald Trump passed the executive law of Withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization. Many speculations were raised due to this drastic change. A primary cause being to redirect funding and resources toward US-centric global health priorities.
As stated by The White House, “The WHO [World Health Organization] continues to demand unfairly onerous payments from the United States, far out of proportion with other countries’ assessed payments.”
As an effect of these measures being taken, some American citizens hope to be able to place our funds into more efficient and productive ways.
One of the biggest changes that the administration has made is the immigration policies.
NYC Bar wrote, “President Donald J. Trump has acted quickly on his campaign promise to focus on immigration, including aggressively pursuing removal of noncitizens, pressuring states and localities to cooperate in immigration enforcement, limiting access to humanitarian forms of relief, and closing the southern border.”
With many different political, economic, and religious views being brought to the argument, citizens should continue to have conversations about different belief systems and morals. By continuing to share the many different perspectives and opinions, our country will hopefully be able to embrace different ways of thinking. No matter if you can or can not vote, your voice matters.
