Mr. Linnartz: Honors Biology

The stories told about this class from upperclassmen bring intimidation to every freshman walking in the class.
Troy Linnartz biology class is said to be quite the grueling and exhausting class, but after going through it myself, I have to say it has been the best class I have ever had.
Our science based learning was one of the most exciting and interesting subjects I’ve ever learned in a class. From breaking down the entire plant and animal cell to learning about meiosis, mitosis, and the entire DNA replication process. I must admit that it was not easy at some points but the education I received was worth all of the hard work I put in.
This class is like trying to read a captivating novel written in a language you don’t yet understand. It’s so exciting and you gradually start learning how to take in the information which keeps making it more and more fun.
What makes this class special though, is how Mr.Linnartz teaches. During his lessons he will turn something biology related into a life lesson that we could actually use in our time here at slope and later on his life, this makes it so the information sticks onto us and makes the information easier to remember.
Freshman Jameson Aragon said “In biology, we learn more than just science, we have learned life lessons that I believe could stick with me for a while.”
The exciting and interesting courses came at a cost though, we had a challenging quiz on all the stuff we learned every week. “Those quizzes were rough, but it was worth it in the end for what I learned,” said Aragon.
Mr. Linnartz is known for his goofy character and dark humor, “He messes with the class a lot, treating us with respect and talks to us as we are grown instead like we are little kids,” said Aragon.
I highly recommend you talk to your counselor about getting Mr. Linnartz on your schedule, it will be tough at first but it is worth it in the end.
