Art and Posters engulf the walls, Swim trophies litter the room, and on the whiteboard there is a mix of drawings from former and current students alongside different formulas and equations. Cameron Licht’s Honors Algebra 1-2 classroom is a perfect example of his personality, as the room shows his fun and hip personality alongside his great teaching and passion for mathematics.
In Licht’s class, the many aspects of algebra at a faster rate than non-honors classes alongside learning the many topics covered in algebra such as graphing and quadratics to name a few alongside many formulas and base knowledge for future math classes.
This class is like going on a hike; the trail, in this case algebra lessons, may be challenging at parts, but with the tools provided in Lichts classroom you are sure to reach the peak of the mountain of understanding.
This class has many notable aspects that make it as great as it is, including Mr. Lichts thorough teaching where he encourages participation and keeps students engaged with each lesson. Another aspect of this class is the fact that he allows students time at the end of every lesson to complete the assignments given, so that there is little homework.
Freshman Len Sobeck said that his favorite parts about taking Honors Algebra 1-2 include Lichts teaching style and how he gives time to do homework in class so that students do not have to do work outside of school. However, Sobeck is not the only one who loves Licht’s teaching.
Freshman Quinn Pradhan, while talking about Mr. Licht, explained, “He’s a great teacher, [and] teaches well” alongside describing the classroom as “pretty chill”, if a student does not mess around the whole time, as you can be granted certain freedoms in his class. While some love Mr. Lichts teaching for what it is, others like it for other reasons.
Freshman Zach Luyster explained, “made me love math, because I never really been good at it, and I don’t really like math, but because of him. I really do. “
Most students who take this class enjoy it and enjoy the teaching, so if you know any 8th graders who enjoy math in any ways be sure to tell them to request Mr. Licht!
