The atmosphere is calm and therapeutic,with the teacher throwing light hearted dad jokes at the class expecting laughter out of them. At the end of the day the teachers and students are ready to go home. Their minds are tired from the long day. Despise this the formerly known LisaMrs.Preston now known as Mrs.Parten a teacher that teaches integrated science.With this integrated science class we learn many different subjects, such as the solar system,climate, the earth atmosphere,and how the universe came to be.The skills we learn in this class include being able to apply the scientific method in real world situations,along with making a conclusion based on evidence ,moreover the other skills include problem-solving and critical thinking. Mrs.Parten makes lesson that have many different factors easy to understand by coming up with a mnemonics to help memorize them ,she also comes up with games that are related to what we are learning to .Other times she will use movies to help us to relate and understand the lesson .Science is like a garden you plant ideas ,nurture them though research and understanding its growth even if not every seed grows, every time you try ,it leads you to learn something new and get a better understanding of what to do next . Mrs.Parten has a way of teaching that almost every person can get with her being able to help those how may have a hard time understand a topic with her being able to make a connection to an everyday task or another known topic.Not to mention that she is a very friendly and understanding person,the type of person you can just go up to and talk and end up being there forever. Freshmen Edith Pacheco, a former student of Mrs.Parten’s that got her schedule changed, showed disappointment when she realized that she no longer had Mrs.Parten as a teacher with her saying ,”I liked how she was very organized when she was teaching.”. She also mentions that Mrs. Parten is a fun teacher and how she misses doing activities in her class. Other students that have had Mrs.Parten all year round have said that she has a way of making activities fun and interesting for students, such as Ffreshmen Lilanna Juarez with her stating ,”it’s calm and she has an interesting way of teaching. I also like doing the activities.”Fellow students also mention that she is an overall friendly teacher,With freshmen Angela Gonzalez explained that,” It’s a good class the teacher is friendly”and she nevers gives out work that isn’t manageable. Freshmen at Sunnyslope couldn’t ask for a better start than having a teacher like Mrs. Parten,someone who believes in you from day one.Not all classes are built equal,some are just built different.Are you curious?
