You hear the foam balls hitting the hard block wall, watching as they knock down the opponents on the other side of the line. You can almost smell the adrenaline rushing through the room. And just like that, you go down. As the pungent mat hits your mouth, it leaves a sour aftertaste of the athletes that have played here before.
Dodgeball is just one of the many hands-on activities that students get to experience in Physical Education classes, run by coaches Sarah Schlesinger and Amber Geer. In Physical Education, commonly known as “PE,” students will engage in year-round fun, featuring sports such as badminton, soccer, and basketball. It is impossible to not enjoy the unique environment, while exercising all class.
This period is like going to Planet Fitness itself – being able to immerse yourself in the gym environment, all while having fun talking to your friends and staying fit. The best part about it all? You get to build some extra muscle along the way.
With zero homework, PE is the perfect stress-free class for you!
Since there are no extra responsibilities, this period allows classes to focus on having a great time learning about your body, as well as healthy ways to stay fit. You no longer need to worry about turning in your work on time, or having busy school nights.
The two girls’ PE coaches do an amazing job keeping their students fit and healthy with exciting sports
Freshman Harper Ayer stated that her favorite PE activity this year was badminton.
While some students enjoyed the activities, others enjoyed the environment.
Freshman Eleanor Bednarek mentioned that in PE, “you are more engaged with your classmates,” even adding that she “met [her] best friends in that class, [because] of how much time [they] spend together.”
Even if meeting new friends seems like a dealbreaker, you can also learn a load of new things.
When asked about new information she gained in this class, Freshman Jo Zier stated that “it helped [her] understand more sports that [she] didn’t know much about,” such as football.
With all of the positive responses on PE class, it is clear to see that it makes an amazing impact on students daily.
The best part about it all, is that every freshman student is required to take one year of PE, so there’s no chance that you’ll miss out on all the fun!
