On a hot Spring afternoon, the star Varsity Baseball player Jack Petroff proves himself at every single inning when the pressure is rising. Behind the highlights and big moments, Petroff’s success comes from hours of practice and a relentless drive to improve. Coaches and teammates describe him as focused, competitive, and always ready for the next challenge. It’s that mindset that has helped him stand out as more than just a talented player.
When asked what matters most to him beyond baseball, Petroff didn’t hesitate to point to what grounds him. “My family and my faith are the most important to me,” said Petroff.
Talking about who he looks up to, he points out the people who have shaped him the most. “My parents are my priorities, and I always look up to them,” said Petroff.
Petroff shares his saying before games to hype himself up and keep it short and sweet. “Be you,” said Petroff.
Looking ahead to the next step in his baseball journey, Petroff shared where he plans to continue his career at the “collegiate” level. “He will be attending” New Mexico State University as it’s the best option for me and my family to chase my dreams for baseball. I got a full-ride scholarship,” said Petroff.
Beyond the field and his competitive drive, Petroff also shared a glimpse into how he spends his time off the field when asked about his hobbies. “Baseball, hanging out with friends, playing the guitar,” said Petroff.
When asked whether he uses music to get himself ready before games, Petroff revealed a simple routine that helps set the tone for his performance. “Yes, it always puts me in a good mood,” said Petroff.
Reflecting on his experience at Sunnyslope, Petroff described how the school has played a major role in shaping both his character and his opportunities. “Sunnyslope has made me a better person and has helped me with so many things like school, baseball, and my friends,” said Petroff.
Looking back on his journey and accomplishments in baseball so far, Petroff shared what stands out to him most.“Something I’m proud of is how far I’ve come in achieving my dreams by playing baseball, and I’m already committed,” said Petroff.
