Books line the shelves. Students are writing intensely, some are even acting out scripts. Props and costumes are strewn about. Smooth jazz plays in the background.
The Shakespearean reenactment is just one of the many elaborate assignments Freshmen complete in Amanda Morari’s Honors English 1-2 Class.
Morari’s classes are always doing something exciting– whether it’s acting out Shakespeare or working on their next project, it’s sure to be a chaotic, but entertaining, time.
Her class is like hosting a dinner party; it’s spirited, many people are involved, and there’s lots of work, but it’s worth it in the end. Despite the rigor that comes with an taking an honors course, Morari is always sure to make it an enjoyable and meaningful class. From assignments that allow students to be creative to little homework, Morari is an incredible teacher in more ways than one. She skillfully lets her students have fun while also keeping them on track and learning. Students are drawn to her playful, sarcastic, and warm attitude and class environment. “Ms. Morari is a movie fanatic and likes Disney movies which is kinda cool, and she’s good at getting the class back on track,” Freshman Lenny Letcher III said. Similarly, Freshman Avenleigh Rojek says that she appreciates how Morari “lets us be creative and use our literary thinking skills.” Freshman Mattea Talkington expressed appreciation for the class environment, saying, “I like how decorated & organized her classroom is, it makes the atmosphere fun and like warm. She also gives us a lot of work time for projects and stuff and I really like that.”
It is plain to see what an amazing teacher and versatile person she is, from laughing with her students to powerfully leading her classroom. Incoming Freshmen, you better hope you have Amanda Morari as your English teacher.
